چکیده
Abstract B cell Maturation Antigen (BCMA) is a receptor that engages the cytokines BAFF and APRIL. BCMA known to play critical role in regulating proliferation, survival, differentiation into plasma cells. However, effect of on non-B cells has been understudied. We have previously shown regulates EAE, where −/−mice exacerbated disease compared +/+mice. The increased was associated with infiltration cells, T inflammatory macrophages central nervous system (CNS). In this study, we assessed expression patterns different immune types infiltrating CNS mice EAE by flow cytometry. found expressed microglia are CNS, but not or neutrophils. Next, numbers phenotype myeloid lymph nodes healthy −/−and an number resident microglial low CD86 brain Also, elevated M1 (measured iNOS) nodes, type −/−in comparison +/+mice expression. These data suggest novel for function peripheral tissues. Our points towards new pathway regulated APRIL signaling through provides clues behind immunopathogenesis neuroautoimmune diseases. activation of microglial cells: the bridge between the immune system and pain in central nervous system
background : pain is one of the main protests of inflammatory diseases, hence, understanding the mechanisms which involved in the induction and persistence of pain is essential. microglia is a contributing factor in the onset and maintenance of inflammation. increased microglial activation increases the level of central pro-inflammatory cytokines and the development of central sensitization f...
متن کاملADENOSINE IN THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM
Besides being a metabolite of nucleotides like ATP, adenosine is a mediator of neuronal function in the central nervous system. Its actions are mediated by at least three extracellular receptors. In this review different aspects of adenosine such as biosynthesis, release, inactivation and its receptors are discussed. It also covers pre- and postsynaptic effects as well as postreceptor mecha...
متن کاملThe Role of Mammalian Target of Rapamycine Signaling Pathway in Central Nervous System Cancers: A Review
Mammalian mechanistic target of rapamycine (mTOR) is a conserved serine/threonine kinase in the cellular PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway. This pathway is modified by cellular alterations such as level of energy, growth factors, stresses, as well as the increased environmental level of cancerous cytokines. In general, increase of this kinase protein function is seen in various types of cancers, ...
متن کاملGamma interferon signaling in macrophage lineage cells regulates central nervous system inflammation and chemokine production.
Intracranial (i.c.) infection of mice with lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) results in anorexic weight loss, mediated by T cells and gamma interferon (IFN-gamma). Here, we assessed the role of CD4(+) T cells and IFN-gamma on immune cell recruitment and proinflammatory cytokine/chemokine production in the central nervous system (CNS) after i.c. LCMV infection. We found that T-cell-deple...
متن کاملHodgkin lymphoma cells express TACI and BCMA receptors and generate survival and proliferation signals in response to BAFF and APRIL.
Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) originates from the clonal expansion of malignant Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells. These B-cell-derived elements constitute less than 10% of the tumoral mass. The remaining tissue is comprised of an inflammatory infiltrate that includes myeloid cells. Myeloid cells activate B cells by producing BAFF and APRIL, which engage TACI, BCMA, and BAFF-R receptors on the B c...
